He began his martial journey under GrandMaster Art Sikes of the Liu Seong World Kung Fu Federation, where he was introduced to the Southern Shaolin style of Siu-Lum Pai and the Indonesian system Kuntao Silat.

Later, he studied with GrandMaster Goeroe Agoeng Wetzel, inheriting the Indonesian art of Pekoleoan Tjimindie Serak, including traditional jurus, langkah, and the internal teachings of kebatinan.
Master Kai Sung guided him through the external Northern Shaolin Ch’uan Fa styles—focusing on power, form, and precision—and the internal arts of Tai Chi Sword, Chen Pan Ling Synthesis, and Tai Chi Chuan.
